The main course objective is to train students in the NetBeans Platform, an open source technology. The objective of the ict@innovation module will be to expose users of this open source technology to the FLOSS philosophy and plant the seed in their minds as to how they can make better use of FLOSS and take their organisaitons further along the FLOSS business model ladder.

The content for the ict@innovation module will be based on Module 1 of the course material “Advanced Training Material on Africa Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) Business Models for IT-SMEs”. The content will be localised to software development organisations using floss in their products, to take them along the curve from users to contributors and finally initiators of FLOSS software.
