    Dear all,

We have now completed the first LPI ToT in Nairobi last year in November where we had about 12 new certified LPI trainers in East Africa. Several others managed to pass one exam and they will resit the exam again so that they can become fully certified.

    DISCUSSION

LPIC-1 Course uses the shell a lot. Most people mistake the Kernel for the Shell. Can we discuss the Difference between the two. What do you understand by the terms Command Prompt, Shell and Kernel?

    Hi all,

For all of those who will be attending the training in Nairobi on the 1-12 November, please post any questions you may have regarding the course material here. The tutors will be online daily to respond to questions and help participants prepare for the course.

The more work you do before hand the more you will get from the course and the better chance you have of passing the exam!

    Regards

    Mark

This is Kyewalyanga Wahabu of Kasambya Community Computer Centre and am planning to host a workshop for ICT targeting Teachers, Students, Small Business Organization, Health Workers, and the General Public.

Please I would like to guide me on how I should trap their attention for the workshop.

I do welcome your ideas on the topics i should talk about in the workshop to increase the enrollment at the Computer Centre as well as promoting ICT awareness in the rural area like Kasambya.

The ict@innovation programme is currently looking into different options for organizing trainings that lead to an internationally recognized FOSS certification.

This could be done at different levels:
    * desktop certification (like Open ICDL, Open Office ..)
    * system admin certification (like LPI, or vendor-certifications like RedHat, Ubuntu ..)
    * specific application related certifications (like PHP, MySQL ...)

We are interested to learn about your needs.
