Joining the ict@innovation Web Community

This website is designed to keep its members in touch with current developments and projects the area of FOSS in Africa and the ict@innovation programme. It is also hosts a community of persons interested in and working with FOSS in Africa and is a space for knowledge exchange and discussion.

The Community
Over 500 persons and organizations have registered on ict@innovation. All of them share an interest in Free and Open Source Software in Africa.

You can also search our database to find FOSS experts in your country or matching your interests.
Becoming an ict@innovation community member is simple. All you have to do is create a profile. All our website services are free of charge and it is up to you what information you would like to share.
As a community members you can:

  • Use your profile to advertise your skills and interests.
  • Blog about FOSS in Africa and share relevant news and views.
  • Post events
  • Create groups to share files, and engage in private discussions on relevant topics. If you just want to browse through our public groups please have a look at this overview. For further information about the differences between the groups you can check our Guide to Groups.
  • Use the forums and Wikis for discussions and online working processes
  • Send invitations to your friends so they can register on the website as well. Please note: You must be logged in to invite others!

Staying Informed
It’s easy to stay informed about ict@innovaion news and developments. You can:

  • Read our blog and receive all blog posts and other Website updates by Email or RSS feed! You can find RSS icons to subscribe to feeds at the bottom of the sections that offer subscriptions. You can manage your email subscriptions as a registered user under "My account" >"Subscriptions".
  • Subscribe to our quarterly newsletter or read older editions in our newsletter archive 
  • Subscribe to our mailingslists and use this space to stay up to date, discuss and share news with FOSS experts
