Welcome to ict@innovation - Creating Business and Learning Opportunities with Free and Open Source Software in Africa

ict@innovation is a capacity building programme for small and medium ICT enterprises (IT-SME) in Africa. ict@innovation supports small and medium enterprises to create a business model with FOSS and aims to encourage the growth of African ICT industries, particularly in Southern and East Africa, through three main actions: 1) spreading FOSS business models for enterprises in Africa, 2) fostering FOSS certification and 3) supporting innovative local FOSS applications for social and economic development.

The ict@innovation portal provides:

  • news on programme activities as well as news on other FOSS projects and initiatives across Africa,

  • access to products such as training materials and

  • contacts to people working with FOSS across Africa.

You can become part of the ict@innovation community by registering a profile and sharing your experiences working with FOSS!

ict@innovation focuses on Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) as a key technology to drive innovation, add local value and create sustainable and affordable ICT-solutions. ict@innovation is a partnership between FOSSFA (Free Software and Open Source Foundation for Africa) and InWEnt - Capacity Building International (Germany).
