Certification for the Masses

Its great to be part of this Forum. And to look into a future of Certification for Africans, by Africans using FLOSS. i have been toying with these questions, and i hope they shall get answered as we move along -

  1. What will be the bench-mark for our certification? Who will certify our certification?
  2. What will be the depth of our certifications? Can we go 1 better than reknown LPI, RedHat e.t.c?

But most importantly for me, is the fact that we are finally recognizing that Training needs to support advancements in other growth spectrums on FLOSS.  There is no point FLOSS growing on might wings and not having people on the ground who are skilled and certified in the same.

The effect of this in the african 'certificate = job' concept cant not be underestimated. Many Jobs are bound to fall in better hands.

Am excited, and i cant wait.

This is gonna be graet training whose time has come. Africa can't afford to be left behind in this information technology revolution. We are living in an open world which should be powered by open source.
