The Africa FOSS Community Empowerment Manager is the community face of the African Free Software and Open Source organization in Africa. S/He manages communications in both directions and empowers the multiple communities hosted by FOSSFA. This digital-savvy employee is also responsible for all communications, PR, social media, and content creation on the community portals, among other things.

GIZ at eLearning Africa 2011: ICT for Development, Education and Training

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is showcasing a number of its capacity building products at the upcoming „eLearning Africa – 6th international conference on ICT for development, education and training”. The three-day gathering of African e-learning and ICT4D experts will take place in Dar Es Salaam from May 25 to 27.

FOSSFA and InWEnt launching first regional course on Business and Open Source in Johannesburg, South Africa

The South African Advanced African FOSS Business Model ToT Group

Johannesburg, 14/07/2009 - "How can Southern African IT-businesses make money with Free and Open Source Software?“ - this one of the questions being  discussed at the regional course on "Advanced African Business Models with Free and Open Source Software (FOSS)“. The two-week event started on July 13 at University  of Witwatersrand, (Wits) in Johannesburg and is the first in a series of training-of-trainer (ToT) events in Southern and East Afria.

Content Creation Workshop on "African FOSS Business Models"

On March 10-12, 2009, more than 20 people gathered in Nairobi, Kenya, for the ict@innovation Content Creation Workshop. Hosted at Strathmore University, the group of experts came together for three days of intense work on training materials on the subject of African FOSS business models.
