National trainings on Advanced African FOSS Business models in Tanzania get local media attentions!!!
The first roll-outs of the national trainings on Advanced African FOSS Business models get local media attention
The “Entrepreneurship Course in African Business Model With Free and Open Source Software” currently on the roll-out in Tanzania has attracted the attention of local media. Following Edgar Telesphory, who is organizing the course, on the third day of the National AFBM Training, Media from one local newspaper gave them a visit. As highlighted by Edgar, “it was a surprise visit as we did not have budget to call them to cover for the news. They interviewed me as a coordinator, and few participants and published the story, the story has then been published in Swahili (local language).“
As a result of the media coverage, the interest in the course boosted, with more people calling and requesting further information on what FOSS can do especially to SMEs. As Edgar puts it, “an advice, to my fellow national trainers, find way to have media people as participants.”
This is a great start and congratulations to the course team, consisting of Edgar Telesphory (Organiser), Frank Tilugulilwa (UCC Limited), Lawrence Lyayuka (UCC Limited) and Atanas Cosmas (UCC Limited)!!!
If you have a similar story to tell, please post them at the portal!!! We can be proud of what we have been achieving so far, thus let’s show it to the world!
